Do you remember the OLD Dip Net in Port Clyde, ME?

The OLD Dip Net - Port Clyde, ME

What a colorful place the OLD Dip Net used to be. A Magical… tasty restaurant with a view that can’t be beat! The OLD Dip Net sat on the edge of the Monhegan Boat Line wharf. It welcomed those to stop in for a quick bite before they head to Monhegan or after they’ve just returned. We didn’t eat there the first few years, always in a hurry from one place to the next, but it was on ‘the list’ to stop in one day. Finally, one year we rented a cottage in Port Clyde, my parents were on their first trip to Maine, we walked from our cottage down to the Dip Net and ooooowwwwwweeeeeeee did we have good times. Great food, mostly fried, but so delish! MMMMMmmmmm, I can taste it now! Last year Linda Bean (of L.L. Bean family) bought the general store and the Dip Net. It’s still nice, still tasty, but we miss the people who were thriving there at that little independent restaurant. Matter of fact, we still have a DIP NET bumper sticker on our car, hee hee… if you get a chance, check out the new Dip Net
